Traditional Gotta patti work of Jaipur

I learned some key points to keep in mind when purchasing the” Gotta patti” work while in Jaipur and would like to share it with friends

 A small briefing about the work :

The “Gotta patti” work is the rich golden fabric embroidery of the royal Rajasthan .

The work requires a detailed craftmanship with the small pieces of  golden zari ribbon and fabric used for this is mainly

The best thing about this work is it can be done on any fabric since it is very light in weight ,it looks great on chiffon and georgettes’ .

The USP of the “Gotta patti” work is that it is light from the inside ands looks very heavy and filling on the outside suiting the taste of the all Indian wearers of heavy and shiny works

While purchasing the fabric ensure is it the handmade work of gotta work or Patch work

The “Gotta patti” work that is done by hand is more fine and intricate and requires skilled craftsmanship ,which is why it is comparatively costlier than the readymade work that comes in the form of standard format of lace as shown below

  A saree with the  gotta patch patti with a 4 ' border can range from Rs. 3000 and beyond as the “Gotta patti” comes for Rs.200 a metr of a 4 ' border width, if teamed with the kundan work the saree can range higher  depending on the fabric used

 A saree with the handmade work can range anything   depending on the other embroidery it is teamed up with like kundan work or zardozi etc.

There is a lot you can do with the handmade” Gotta patti” work as it is versatile for example you can design necklines for kurtas,butties for the dupattas etc .lehngas

On this day of 28th August 2011 India proves that we are from the country where Gandhiji once walked in blood and f lesh .Anna reminds us of the paths once showed by Gandhiji,Yes we get our Jan Lokpal bill passed without any voilance,It is a joyous moment in every Indians life who have in some way or the other have been hit by the bug of corruption, there is now some hope that with people like Anna Hazare ,Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi the country will walk the right way and to tell the world that we still breeds genuine honest good citizens who can lead us , and they sure are not the one's who just sit and tolerate or crib for the systems they are the one's who know and have the guts to challenge the goverment and remind them that India is a govt " Of the people, for the people ,by the people" .
I hope the govt understands the very fact that we are a democratic nation and the people are tolerating things not that they dnt understand or cant do anything about it

No one to beat Princess Diana and the 1981's Royal Wedding

With the Royal weddings comes great responsibilties with the 'princess to be' to the people .Kate middleton looked stunning in her wedding outfit but i missed the royal touch to it, may be she got too concious thinking and designing her most awaited bridal wear .
Not every girl gets a Royal wedding though every girl dreams of one but the lucky someone who gets to be a princess should be taught to get spoilt in it lol!!!!!!   and to  make every thing in it seem far from reachable for   the masses .
Princess Diana carried off a trail that was 25 feet long and looked radiant while she flaunted it near the stairs waving at the crowd which wouldnt have been possible and pratical for an ordinary bride and that added to the Ow! factor in the whole Royal wedding which i personally found missing in kate .The charisma charm and innocence which was seen on princess Diana's face was far away on kate who was mature more composed,and seemed an ordinary girl who had done her home work well of learning all the do's and dont of the Royal family well .Undoubtedly she looked very pretty in her wedding attire but i wished to see her less pratical ,less mature in designing her dress coz it was the cinderella moment of her life and one should only use the heart and not the brainzzzzzzzz to it :)

When you get married to a prince and a Prince as loving and handsome as Prince williams you ought to have a dress like never before and not a replica or even similar to some Princess Grace in the past .The flowers in your hand must not be an ordinary small bunch it should be a trendsetter bunch .Infact i wished she would have worn the same dress as that of lady Diana and i am sure would have stolen many hearts even then

Angels!!

Hey all ,here i am narrating my nxt story which is again from the same author Danielle Steel and the book is "Johny Angel".This story introducs us to 2 high school lovebirds who are on the verge of completing their high school to follow their carers ahead .Johney and Becky are both in love with each other eversince they have known of love,Becky has 3 younger siblings  and her mother named Pam who is a widow and lost her husband 2 yrs back and have been struggling with sustaining the nees of he family .Becky being brilliant in studies has 2  ful time jobs in after high school and hence deicdes to work rather than pursue higher studies on the other hand Johney has 1 younger sister and a younger brother and his parents .Johney is all set to pursue his higher studies with a reputed college afer high school.Johney's father Jim is an accountant and runs his own firm he met with an accident a few years back when he was on a drive with his younger brother which resulted in making his brother dumb as he couldnt speak .It was the shock or fear of this accident which made his father anesthise himself by drinking in front of the TV everyday till he passed out .His younger sister was a good athelete and had won several awards at her age ,but it didnt mean anything to hr because she always felt her dad diapproved of a girl being a good athelete and hence never came to see her game as an encouragement to his child  ,This did annoy both johney  and his mother .
Johney called becky every night  and he were deeply in love with each other .Johney bought becky a dress or the Prom as Becky couldnt afford a dress herself and wouldnt have come to the Prom .
Both Becky and johney were looking stunning on the prom night as they drove out of the Prom Becky and Johney were accompanied b another couple in their car ,and they all decided to go to a hamburger joint to have something ,which was a favourite of all the youngies,
On thier way they met with an accident with a Truck and Johney died on the spot and becky was hurt and the remaining were just injured and saved .The shockin news of the loss of their son was broken to Jim and jane .They were highly depressed and his mother was even disturbed as he was the only normal thing in thier house ,Becky and pam were equally sad.They would often visit Johneys mother and share the sorrow .Johney 's mother lost apetite and one day she coughed and obserrved stains of blood coming out ,Jim rushed her to the hospital and got very concerned .That  night she felt johney had come to visit her in the dreams ,she talked to her and dnt want to come out of her dreams to find he s gone .It is then that Johney told her that he had come back to finish some tasks which were left undone ,and its only his mother could see him.Johney would one by one correct everything and bring his family to live from there on .The journey of Johney angel  to bring back life in the people who adoured him is commendable .All s well that ends well :)

A very sweet book indeed .

Being home

I have stopped working recently  to basically feel and enjoy being a housewife .Initially time would just go by finishing some tiny winny household stuff and watching the TV, with my hubby coming in early from work, evenings were amazingly beautiful and we would go out roaming here and there,But all this wasnt forever
These days he is kinda busy with work and would turn up late leaving me wake to the creeking sound of the lift evry time it passed my floor .My days were now full of waiting endlessly for him .As they say books are the best companions i picked one up and like earlier everytime i finished reading a novel i would narrate the book to my father or sister or a good friend which would give me lot of happiness,With everything seeming left behind after marriage i sit here to share with all  you likeminded frnds this book written by my favorite author Danielle Steel 's,"Sisters " .The book took me to this world of women,who possesed  immense strength,talent ,Love,sorrows etc to have lived up to .

The book introduces "Candy ",who was a glam doll and succesful and leading international  model who was 21 yrs and the youngest of the 4 sisters,she was a photographer's delight as they say as she was very professional,patient,and a good human being to be around  ,Candy was skinny ,tall and at the peak of her career ,she would travel a lot for her shoots from Paris ,Milan ,Japan etc couture shows and was making good money .It was for fourth of july ,thankgiving and christmas that she and her sisters would make it a point to celebrate with their parents and family and was adoured by their mother .Candy would leave for her home in connecticut that evening after her shoot in Italy . Candy had to turn down the invite from the valentino's party to be there at connecticut  ,which she seldome did as part of her profession as well, to be there at her parents for the fouth of july celebs .
"Annie" is elder to candy and lives in Florence for the past 2 yrs .She is beautiful like her sister but not as tall as Candy ,she is an Artist and is in Florence to learn techniques in art ,She is 26 yrs old and is funded by her parents as of now but her work is much appreciated and soon she shall be able to make a living as her sisters by her art soon.She was dating this guy named charlie since 6 mnths nw who came from New york and would return after a year ,he was an artist too and the both shared a good understanding ,and matched in thoughts to each other .She loved florence and never wanted to leave it but she had to make for the forth of july and was looking forward to meeting all her sisters
"Tammy " was running a succesful TV show in LA ,she was 34yrs,hard working and loved her work .Her work timings were mad .She was intitally carbing a niche for herself in her twenties and eversince she crossed twenties she found men jerks so had given up on her dating nor did she have the time in busy schdule for the same .Though her show was at a crucial point as her lead actress was pregnant and they had to soon find a replacement ,but it was always lik this in the TV  world and she was now used to these situations.She had a flight at night for connecticut to be with her family for the fourth of july. Her mother always told her she might meet someone in the plane someime but she always had some ,kid,a chattering women etc sitting by her side lol.Tammy had her best frnd in her dog Junaita who was the only one to share space in the busy life of Tammy .
The eldest of them all was "Sabrina " who was an Attorney In New York and worked on divorce,family law etc cases,she would have crazy work hours ,she had a boyfriend who worked for a rival agency and working on tough suites,his name was Chris and they were into the relationship since 4 yrs and lived a few blocks away from each other enjoin their own spaces and spending times at each others appt sometimes .sabrina dnt want to get married and rather stay lik this for ever she thought marriage would ruin their perfect relationship .Chris gave her a dog on their first anniversary which was like their child ,sabrina adoured the dog .

They all arrived the day before the fourth of july to catch up with their sisters all this while  .They were welcomed by their mom who was delighted to see them all ,candy ,sabrina ,Tammy ,annie they would just fill the place with their GT.
The next day was th of july and the arrangements for the party were taken care of ,suddenly their mother remembered to get some pickles for their father from a far away shop on the other side of the highway which would be open that day .Annie offered to accompany her mother for the same .On their way they met with an accident with a truck which had loose steel pipes falling as a result of which Annie's mother Jane Adams was dead on the spot and anni was injured terribly,she was rushed to the hospital by the patrollers who also informed the Adams house of the news of thir mother dead and annie admitted in the hospital with a Brain damage which needed to be operated .The girls rushed with their father to the hospital and came to know that if annie survived the surgery she would be Blind rest of her life ,which disturbed the sisters as annie was an artiest and all her life was about  seeing.Candy and her Father were in a mess at this stage but tammy and Sabrina handled the situations with great Strength,They organised a funeral for their Mother and took care of Annie in the hospital ,Annie was devasted when she knew her mother was no more and she could see ,The way her sisters cheered her to life is commendable .

The 3 sisters Candy Tammy and Sabrina decided to rent an apartment for a year until Annie would be able to gather herself .Candy was kid herself and of not much help to them ,which made sabrina and Tammy  grow commndablyy in the past few months of the mishap .Annie was beginning to go to the parkers school to learn some trickes of survival where she meets Mr.Brad parker who eventually fall in love with her .Candy these while dates a wrong guy who rapes her ,bruises her and she is again saved safely by her sisters Tammyy and Sabrina .Their dad is to marry leslie thompson who is half his age to have a life partner which is against the wishes of the girls though but they begin to understand his perspective as well  .Sabrina has now begun to look things differently from a marriage perspective with Chris just as the wayy her mother wanted them to stay together and marry to have grandchildren which seemed impossible when she was alive .
